History:

Howell Spear began acquiring minerals in the mid-1950's and continued throughout his life. He solicited mineral owners, participated in BLM sales, and used his oil & gas instincts to find profitable leases.  His minerals and leaseholds were primarily located in the Permian Basin, Gulf Coast and Rocky Mountain regions of the United States.  Interests from the Howell Spear Estate were managed by Conquistador Petroleum for several years.

Today:

As a result of the consolidation of 2010, interests once belonging to the Howell Spear Estate can now be found in Trabajo (working interest), Realeza (royalty) and Tierra (surface) Del Spear.
