Sun-West’s inventory of minerals and surface interests was once located primarily in Southeast New Mexico and West Texas.   In addition, Sun-West owned federal oil and gas leases in the Gulf Coast and Rocky Mountain areas as well as a fractional interest in an offshore oil lease in the North Slope of Alaska.  Now all holdings from this company live elsewhere (read on). 

History:

Sun-West was incorporated by Rex, Shane and Nelson Spear in 1991. Sun-West’s activities in the early years were to manage and lease mineral interests inherited from their mother, Ellie Spear. 

Today:

After the consolidation of 2010, leases from Sun-West were assigned to Trabajo (working interest), Realeza (royalty) and Tierra (surface) to increase our efficiency and further secure our assets.  We didn't lose a company, we gained three more.
